The second dragon will be more challenging, but never fear, there will be folding available to all comers All ages welcome that can participate without extra supervision. Use an existing garment to create a pattern that you know will fit you! Using just pins, a corkboard, and some paper, you can duplicate a beloved piece without having to take it apart. Hands on! Bring a garment you want to make a pattern for. For beginner to advanced sewists, ages 12+.

Victorians loved incorporating butterflies into their decor. In the first part of this two-part workshop, you will learn the Victorian art of butterfly pinning. Leave your butterfly to dry, then return for part two the next day. All ages are welcome!

Until the invention of the envelope machine in 1876, letters were sealed with wax. An elegantly folded paper with a wax seal were the sign of a genteel person. Small boxes were always useful to hold items or for selling. We will use standard printer paper, recycled magazines, and Japanese paper to create the foundation for your missive, whether mysterious or amorous, and small boxes to adorn your live.My workshops are open to all, but if you have someone that needs more than adult teaching, please provide them with an assistant.

In the second part of this two-part workshop, you will glue the butterfly that you have already pinned into a rustic wood window box. Decorate your box with patterned paper and steampunk embellishments. Then, you will be ready to display a work of art worthy of any Victorian home! All ages welcome.

Bind your very own pocket sized Adventure Journal and start recording all of the wonders you encounter. Learn how to hand sew a multi-signature text block with ribbon tapes and soft cover. Also, learn what all of that means, so you can impress people as you show them around your library. Requires using sharp tools like an awl, needle, and scissors, so children need adult supervision.

Learn the skills needed to make a custom box for any hat, or anything else that needs a cylindrical box. We will be making small boxes, due to time constraints, but the same method can be scaled up to whatever size you need. All materials for making a finished box will be provided. Get waisted! Using an old tshirt, a roll of duct tape, and a friend, you can make a corset pattern shaped exactly like you! This hands-on workshop is best for intermediate to advanced sewists, ages 16+. Bring or wear an old t-shirt over a base layer.

Cover a small trinket box in metal tape "panels" Add "rivets" and texture Discuss basic weathering options and decoration of the inside of the box 7 and up for the Basic session (parent supervision required)

I will be teaching at least one of the pieces that are in the gallery. Which one depends on who shows up, and what the group wants. There will be at least one entry level fold taught. As always, all levels of folders and all age groups are welcome. Please remember that the teaching is on an adult level. (Well as adult as I ever get.) Do not drop off your young offspring if they are not of a maturity to participate as such.
